Re: Payet v Holland
Leicester City will lose Mahrez and Kante as, with the deepest of respect, there a bit of an arsewiping happy-clappy cunt club.

Look at their crowd on match-days; full of replica-shirters, cardboard happy-clappers... Just smacks of a shit club. If I was a top player; I wouldn't want to stay at a club with embarrassing newbie support like Leicester's.

Blackburn Rovers won (or, should I say, bought) the league in 94/95 but their better players couldn't wait to jump ship and join better, proper football clubs.

We're a proper football club with proper support - although the mind-fuck DRUIDS think otherwise - who are about to move to a 60k-seater stadium, which will be the joint 2nd largest in the league, with guaranteed sell-out crowds every game... That's more than enough for the likes of Payet to stay here.

MH - No real point in debating a fee, as said it won't come to that, but for fwiw, we paid 10 mil for him, he's a year older and has only had one good season when it bolis down to it, not much of a trak record before that, so really don't think anyone would bid as high as 45 mil. I mean, what's the record fee anyway for a bloke knocking on 30?

Re: Payet v Holland
I think payet could be the draw for the big lad gignac to come here, who was also playing last night

Re: Payet v Holland
Don't think we would sell as no one will bid ridiculous money for a 29yr old
Kante would not commit to where he would be playing next year in an interview after the game
Think he will go to PSG

That's the way i see it - i'm not worried in the slighest that he's gonna go elsewhere. Although i reckon we'd turn down anything under 45m.

Re: Payet v Holland
I think who we sign may contribute to whether or not his head gets turned. I don't think it swings purely on whether we make champions league. I'd like to think that we've shown enough potential for him to realise that should be our aim next season. It'll be whether we show the desire to do that by signing some additional quality around him.

He isn't going anywhere.

The only risk to us is injury.

Re: Payet v Holland
CM - Would agree with that, 9 times out of 10 if a player gets his head turned and wants to go there is prety much always only going to be one outcome. Stones was an exception recently and look what has happened to him since.

You get the feeling that Payet is level headed though and genuinely feels some loyalty and love towards the club and the fans. The only way I can see him going is if tears up the Euro's and a Barca/Real, Bayern come in for him, but how many 29 year olds do they sign? We wouldn't accept less than 35 mil for him either, imo.

In short, I'm not worried.

Re: Payet v Holland
Transfer will come down to him unfortunately. If he gets his head turned then we may as well cash in. Hopefully at 29 he'll see what he could be at West Ham compared to being an also-ran somewhere else.

Great to see he's still alive and not maimed either.

Also played 30 mins. football since Friday = well rested, while brushing up on his free kick technique for us.

Ha, i'm teaching my 2 year old the same song (with a few little differences).

Re: Payet v Holland
80-1 on top scorer might be worth a few quid. Certainly much better value than some of the names above him.

Nous avons Payet!
Dmitri Payet!
Je ne pense pas que vous comprenez.
Il est l'homme de Super Slav,
Il est meilleur que Zidane,
Nous avons Payet!

Re: Payet v Holland
how many free kicks has he scored this season? Bournemouth, Blackburn, Man Utd, I know he got one in pre-season. sure I'm forgetting at least one.

Fivetide 2:22 Wed Mar 30
Re: Payet v Holland
I thought he'd be our 'assist engine', never really considered how many goals he'd also contribute through sheer set-play genius.

was looking earlier but couldn't see, anybody seen any odds for him to be player of the tournament at the Euros? all I could see was 80/1 for top scorer.

Grumpster 11:26 Wed Mar 30
Re: Payet v Holland
I'm not bothered at all about other clubs.

Everything he has this season is because of West Ham and Bilic and so there's no way he'll be wanting to rock the boat regardless of who comes knocking.

I couldn't be any more pleased for him either. Deserves every single piece of praise he's getting at the moment and good luck to those French fuckers getting to see him in the flesh a few times as well.

Just hand him back safely please.

He won't be going anywhere. He will be in France this summer though.

Absolutely love him. Sent a Dutch friend a link to one of his youtube compilations yesterday, he was stunned by him.

Both not realistic, so the answer would be no.

Re: Payet v Holland

Agreed. I get the same feeling of a pen being awarded when I see us get a free kick 20 yards out because you know he will at least be hitting the target.

Re: his age being a contributor to other clubs not wanting him, I think thats rubbish. Ronaldo is 31 which shows 2 years doesn't make a difference if you have that world class ability, any club in the world would sign Ronaldo and he is 31 and 2 years older than Payet.

Like I previously said, there is not a single figure I would sell him for as we would not get anything even near his quality in return. Love the geezer.
